"Rocky" New WPBF Welterweight Champion

Four rounds were enough for Mario 'Rocky' Meraz (23-4-0, 19 KOs ) knocked the Colombian Fidel Monterrosa Muñoz  (34-11-1, 28 KOs) in the main "In Search of a Champion" won the vacant World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF) World Welterweight Title. The event was organized by Eduardo Hefziba Promotions.

 

 

 

Around 5,000 fans gathered in the sports arena Antonio Palacios Rodriguez headquarters after emerging demand for tickets exceed expectation, vibrated to show 'Rocky'. The Ensenada idol, based his success on his left fist which caused havoc in the 'coffee' , who fell to the canvas in the fourth assault but was incorporated to continue receiving punishment.

 

"I made a smart fight,thank God things went , working the body", but , " I think the referee rushed a bit but came out with their hands up ," Meraz said at the end of the main event. Meraz, ended his opponent to pin with a "hook to the liver and let not think" and thanked his coach Oscar ' Cowboy ' Maldonado and Pablo Medina.

 

"The physicality was essential for this fight, I was faster and stronger ," Meraz  said , while admitting that await news from his attorney, however , considered that Monterrosa "deserves a rematch to try to remove the thorn." Finally, Meraz remembered his former coach Ramon Marchena Marchena (RIP ) and grandfather Javier.
