Mikaela Lauren Defends WPBF World Title March 27

The World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF) Women's World Super Welterweight Champion Mikaela Lauren (20-3,8 KOs) of Sweden will make the fourth defense of her WPBF world title against reigning South African Middleweight Champion Esther Mashiya (8-3-2,1 KO) on March 27 at the Gota Kallare in her hometown Stockholm,Sweden.
This was announced by the champion on Monday,February 24, along with the fact that Lauren will also be acting as promoter of the event,billed as "Fighting Spirit".: "I like the challenge of promoting a very good show",said Lauren. "I have great passion for the sport,and I want people to have a really nice experience".
In July,2013, Lauren lost to reigning world champion German Christina Hammer by decision,but right now back at her natural weight and TKO Hungarian Rita Kennesey in two rounds in December.
The 38-year-old Lauren captured the WPBF world title in September,2010 with a 6th-round unanimous decision over Jill Emery; Second title defense in July,2011 with a 10th-round unanimous decision over Angel McKenzie; Third title defense in October 2012 with a 10th-round unanimous decision over Eva Halasi. Lauren will make the fourth defense of her WPBF world title in her upcoming fight on March 27th,2014. Lauren,a former famous Swedish swimmer,has been very successful in her short boxing career.
Despite the tough bout, Mikaela Lauren is expecting to put on her best performance to date, saying:ˇ°I recently changed my head trainer to Leffe Carlsson,and I have great joy and satisfaction when I am in the ring. Leffe has taught me a new style, which suits me nicely, and I think I will fight my best fight ever against Mashiya".
