Hector Camacho Jr to fight for WPBF World Title on July 28

After scoring a 1st round knockout over late substitute John David Charles during a June 23rd "keep-busyˇ± fight in San Antonio,Texas, Hector Camacho Jr. (54-4-1, 29 KOs) is back in the gym preparing for his next fight with tough Mexican brawler Luis Grajeda (12-1-1, 9 KOs) for the vacant World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF) World Super Welterweight Title on Saturday July 28th in Palomar,Chihuahua,Mexico.

 

With a win over Grajeda, Camacho Jr. is slated to continue his fight to the top. Camacho will fight the Gotti of the Rockies, WBC World Rated David "Strictly Business" Medina (23-2-11KO's) in the Light Middleweight Division in late September.

 

Camacho Jr is the son of legendary three-time world champion Hector Macho Camacho. Camacho Jr turned professional on October 1,1996. As a professional,Camacho Jr. has had some good wins over top fighters like Rocky Martinez,Isreal Cardona and former world champion Philip Holiday and Luis Ramon Campos.In 2001,Camacho Jr. was a #1 World rated fighter and faced Former World Champion Jessie James Leila, which to date has been the highlight of his career. After suffering an accidental head butt, Camacho Jr.'s vision was impaired,ultimately ending the fight in a no contest.  


 
Grajeda is signed with Oscar De La Hoya's Company Golden Boy Promotions. Grajeda turned professional on May 24,2008,stopping Juan Pablo Vazquez in the 2nd round. He fought a tough four round battle with Jair Cena ending in a MD win, Grajeda has improved, winning each of his next 4 matches by 1st round KO. In a Friday Night Fights card Grajeda took a four-round unanimous decision over Osvaldo Rojas.

 

On the undercard,WBC FECOMBOX welterweight champion Mario Alberto Lozano (22-3-0,18 KOs) will face Francisco Javier Reza (9-3-0,7 KOs) for vacant WPBF Americas Welterweight Title.
