Namus to make first defence of her WPBF world title

The Uruguayan boxing star Chris Namus will make the first defence of her WPBF women's world super lightweight title against a Brazil-based Serbian Duda Yankovich on August 7,2010 at the Hotel Conrad Punta del Este Resort & Casino,Maldonado,Uruguay.

 

Chris Namus was born on October 3, 1987 in Montevideo,Uruguay. Just 22 years old but already dubbed "Bombon Asesino" by the combination of her beauty and her manner of fighting. On February 13,2010,Chris Namus (13-1,5KOs) won the vacant WPBF women's world super lightweight title with an impressible seventh-round TKO victory over Adriana Salles ( 11-5-1 ,5 KOs) of Brazil,she made history by becoming Uruguay's first world boxing champion. Her boxing career has strong support from the President of Uruguay.

 

Duda "The Cameleon" Yankovich was born on September 27, 1976 in the small city of Jagodina,Yugoslavia (now Serbia and Montenegro). In March of 2005, Yankovich represented Brazil in the First Pan-American female boxing amateur championship in Buenos Aires,Argentina. Yankovich took third place and a bronze medal in the 138-lb division, losing in the semi-final by 24-11 to Canadian champion,and also world champion,Katie "Silence" Dunn. On November 25,2006 at Companhia Athletica Brooklin in San Paulo, Brazil,Yankovich won a 10-round unanimous decision over Colombian Darys Pardo,become the Brazil's first world boxing champion.
